AUCDI Backlog Pitch Presentations – July 2025
With the release of the AUCDI R2 coming soon in June 2025 – our focus now shifts towards what needs to be included in AUCDI R3.
We are inviting members of the Sparked Community to submit an EOI to provide a three-minute pitch at the upcoming Sparked CDG event on Tuesday 29th July 2025 of what you would like to see prioritised as a data group for the Clinical Design Group to build out over the next 12 months.
These eight elevator pitch-style presentations will be a ‘rapid fire’ and energetic way of working through what data groups are needed, wanted, the justification or use case, value and benefits. At the conclusion of the pitch presentations, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, prior to a Menti to select the priority focus areas for the next tranche of AUCDI development.
The initial AUCDI Backlog pitch presentations will provide valuable insights from frontline groups regarding the necessary clinical content specifications. These specifications will support and facilitate comprehensive care.
As there are limited spots for pitch presentations on the day, we highly encourage you to provide a detailed and well justified EOI response.
For reference, here’s what the AUCDI is designed to do:
The AUCDI is designed to support a comprehensive range of clinical use cases by enabling the capture and use of information beyond traditional medical data. This includes social, emotional, economic, and other contextual factors that influence patient health across the life course. AUCDI aims to enhance continuity of care, inform policy, and support more holistic, person-centred healthcare delivery.

How to get involved?
We encourage anyone interested to first review the below information and FAQs, then complete the EOI form.
We are asking that each EOI selects one of the following two options for their submission:
- Option 1: Pitch for updating a data group that is already part of ACUDI to add additional data elements
- Option 2: Pitch for a new data group and data elements to be added to AUCDI
Please note:
- The EOI form is available for download below and will be open for responses until COB Friday 04 July 2025
- Please send your completed EOI to Sparked@csiro.au
- We will review all of the EOI responses, and let the successful applicants know by Friday 18 July 2025.
- Please consider that this is to be part of AUCDI R3, and keep in mind the design principles and the overarching ‘core of the core’ approach.
- If selected, the EOI form you submit will be what is used as the slide for your presentation

Q: How will I know if my EOI has been selected?
A: We will review all submissions, with all candidates advised of the outcome by COB Friday 18 July 2025.
Q: Where will the pitches be taking place?
A: The AUCDI Backlog Pitch Presentations will be taking place on Day 1 of the upcoming Sparked Clinical Design Group & Community Co-Design Workshops taking place in Sydney on Tuesday 29th of July.
Q: My EOI has been accepted, but I don’t have a ticket – can I still attend?
A: Just let the Sparked team know, and we can work with you to find a solution.
Q: How do I complete the EOI form?
A: The EOI form is a simple PowerPoint slide which details the key components we are seeking for these pitches. Please submit the PowerPoint file to the Sparked team by emailing Sparked@csiro.au by the closure date.
Q: Can the data group/ data group and elements be one that is not included on the existing backlog?
A: Absolutely! The existing backlog is what has been captured to date, and we want to continue to capture what the community deems as a priority going into AUCDI R3.
Q: Will the elevator pitch slides be made available for those who are unable to attend the event?
A: They absolutely will be – they will be made available following the event with the other presentation materials from the day.
Q: What happens if my EOI is unsuccessful?
A: Your contribution will still be taken into consideration and added to the AUCDI Backlog.
Q: Can I pitch more than one data group/data group plus elements in my presentation?
A: If your pitch is successful, you can only pitch what was in the original submission only.
Q: I have more than one data group/data group and data element I would like considered. Do I need to submit an EOI for each data group I would like to pitch?
A: Yes – you need to submit a separate EOI for each data group/data group and data element/s.
Q: Can more than one person be present on the day to give the presentation?
A: Sure! But each pitch is strictly limited to 3 minutes each, so you will need to use your time wisely.
Q: If I can’t attend on the day, can a member of the Sparked team present on my behalf?
A: Of course we can!
Q: But I want everything!
A: Keep in mind that we are looking for a logical next step for AUCDI R3, and thinking about the design principles, and what can be achieved in the next 12 months.
Q: My question hasn’t been answered here or I need some help with my EOI submission
A: No worries, reach out to the Sparked team by emailing Sparked@csiro.au.
