Meet the Sparked Clinical Co-Leads: Dr Charlotte Hespe

Meet Dr Charlotte Hespe – GP, Australian Digital Health Agency Digital Health Advisor, and Sparked Clinical Design Group Co-Lead.
Charlotte brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the CDG, working in a clinical setting as a General Practitioner. Based in Glebe in New South Wales, Charlotte has been a practice owner for 25 years and has been working with UNDA as an Academic since 2008. In her role as clinical co-lead, Charlotte supports the development, validation and implementation of healthcare standards within Australia, as part of the Clinical Design Group. Bringing a unique and hands-on perspective to the conversation, Sparked are so grateful to have Charlotte in our community.
We spoke to Charlotte about her involvement with Sparked, here is what she had to say!
🤔 What is your working background?
I am a GP – working in Glebe, a practice owner since 1999 and working as an Academic with UNDA since 2008
🤔 How did you become involved with Sparked?
I was invited to be a co-lead by the Digital Health Agency due to my particular passion about improving connections in health information to assist in improving health care outcomes for Australians seen in General Practice setting

🤔 What does Sparked mean to you?
Finally igniting the fire to connect us all together
🤔 What is something that you hope to achieve within the Sparked program?
Actually FINALLY achieving connectivity for referrals and gathering information for high quality care in the primary health care space
🤔 How is the Sparked program different to projects you’ve been involved in before?
So many people who are actually the stakeholders with “real skin” in the project
working collaboratively together to get this project off the ground and working
🤔 What’s been your favourite part of working within the Sparked team?
So many talented passionate people who are all wanting to make a difference
What would you tell someone wanting to learn more about the Sparked project?
Most exciting initiative ever! A project that is actually going to finally connect everyone together to ensure safe and high quality care can be achieved
🤔 How will the goals and outcomes of the Sparked Program impact your field/industry/profession?
As a GP, this will be creating REVOLUTIONARY – VOLCANIC eruption-like impacts
