Meet the Sparked Technical Co-Chairs: Chris Skene
Meet Chris Skene – CEO, CTO, & Co-Founder of Aurabox, and an AU eRequesting Technical Design Group Co-Chair.
Working in software development for the last 20 years, Chris brings extensive experience to the technical design group and contributes an expert perspective to the community. In 2021, in collaboration with Clinical Design Group Co-Lead, Chaturica Athukorala, Chris co-founded imaging platform, Aurabox, with the mission of solving access to medical image. Sparked are humbled to have Chris as an integral part of our community.
We asked Chris some questions about his involvement with the Sparked program, this is what he had to say:
🤔 What is your working background?
I have been involved in software development for the last 20 years, in a range of capacities. In 2021, Dr Chaturica Athukorala asked me to start Aurabox, with the mission of solving access to medical imaging.
🤔 How did you become involved with Sparked?
At Aurabox, we have an underlying strategy to drive and support collaborative and open approaches to medical data sharing, and personally I have a long history in open source. Getting involved in Sparked was a no-brainer, and we were delighted to be invited to participate as Chairs.
🤔 What is your role within Sparked?
I am a Co-Chair on the eRequesting Technical Design Group.
🤔 What does Sparked mean to you?
Sparked is a great opportunity to create some shared agreement on healthcare integration in Australia. We saw Sparked as a great opportunity make new relationships across the healthcare sector as well as position Aurabox as a leader within this space.
🤔 What would you tell someone wanting to learn more about the Sparked project?
Don’t be afraid of the complexity. It can seem daunting for outsiders, but he community is very welcoming and diverse, just get in contact via the website.
